Do you Groupon? Get $50 for $25 at The Gap

Have you ever used Groupon before? It's pretty simple. You sign up and enter your city. Once a day Groupon will send you an offer for a high value coupon that is valid in your area. Sometimes it is for a local restaurant or event, other times it is nation or even continent wide. I signed my parents up and they recently bought a great camera at an awesome price. Basically, an offer is put up and people can "buy" the deal. There is usually a baseline number of people who must buy before an offer is "on". Also, the offer is up for grabs for one day only, so if you miss it, it's gone. (Some offers do come up again a few weeks later). If enough people buy, your credit card is charged and a coupon is sent to your inbox.

Today's Groupon is exciting. In fact, it's the first one I've actually bought. For $25 you can get a Groupon for $50 worth of merchandise at The Gap. Read the details, but it looks like it's available across Canada and the US (with the exception of outlets).

Another piece of advice is to also sign up for a city that you are planning to visit in the near future. For example, when we went on a family trip to Seattle, I signed up for the Seattle Groupon site so that I could watch for deals that we might like to take advantage of on our trip.

If you've never Groupon'd before, today seems like a great day to start! For some reason my link is going to the Toronto page, but you can choose your own city at the top of the page. It appears that The Gap deal is everywhere today.
