Sprout Baby Bottles of Joy Review and Giveaway

We first had the opportunity to work with Sprout Baby a few months ago when we reviewed their great organic baby food. You can read our review on their organic baby food here.

Sprout Baby contacted us recently and we had the opportunity to review two bottles from Sprout Baby referred to as "Bottles of Joy". This is a set of two great bottles that are BPA, Phthalate, PVC, and Polycarbonate-free.


Tara's Review:

The Mini Wee-Go glass baby bottles are a great alternative to plastic that may have harmful chemicals that can leak into breast milk or formula. The bottles are Bisphenol A, pvthalate, PVC and polycarbonate-free, and the silicone cover is also free of plastics and 100% non-toxic. The silicone cover protects the bottle from breakage and bumping, and is an easy grip for little hands. The Born Free Vented Glass Bottles are also obviously made of glass, and 100% BPA free. They also have a unique venting system to help reduce colic symptoms as well as middle-ear infections. The nipple is designed to mimic breast-feeding, perfect for babies being weaned or who require a bottle from time-to-time.

We tried both the Mini Wee-Go glass baby bottle with silicone sleeve and the Born Free vented glass bottle. The Mini Wee-Go glass bottle was great. Normally my son is breast-fed, but because he is now in daycare he is getting more used to the bottle. I had tried a couple of bottles and the only one he seemed receptive to was the Playtex Drop-Ins. I was brave and took him to the mall with only the Mini Wee-Go glass bottle, hoping that he would drink from it. And he did and loved it! I loved the silicone sleeve it came with as it made it easier for my son to hold himself. Because it was glass, it was a bit heavier than a plastic bottle, but not too heavy for a baby to hold. The nipple was meant for 0-3 months, which is perfect as my son will only drink out of newborn nipples, even if he is 10 months! The bottle is way more attractive than our regular bottles, and a perfect size. It says 4 ounces, but I managed to fit 5 ounces in and its dishwasher safe, even with the silicone sleeve. I give this bottle an A++.

We had previously tried the Born Free sippy cups with my son, but he wasn’t receptive to them because the liquids came out too fast. I liked the idea of them, because they are glass and BPA free and the ones I had bought him had handles for him to hold. I was hesitant to try out the Vented Glass Bottle because of his previous reaction, but my son took right away to the nipple form of the Born Free Bottles. The Born Free was a bit harder for him to hold himself, being glass and heavier than a plastic bottle, and not having a grip, but we managed to work it out after awhile. Once again, it was a smaller bottle, 5 ounces, so it was lighter than the bigger versions, and I really like how it is glass and not plastic. I would definitely recommend this bottle, and give it an A.
