Geekling Designs Review and Giveaway (CLOSED)

Geekling Designs was created in April 2009 by stay-at-home Mom, Jennifer. After searching online for something unique for daughter Natalie to wear, Jennifer found a lack of affordable clothing – which was still unique. Deciding to put her creative skills to use, Jennifer started making her own designs. After success selling at local swap meets and online classifieds, Geekling Designs became an online store, to make it an easy one-stop shop to buy affordable, handmade clothing.

After finding Geekling Designs online and viewing the beautiful items that Jennifer had in the shop, I knew I had to have a shirt for my daughter. I loved that the clothing wasn't mass produced and the odds of seeing the same shirt on another child were very low. I also loved that the company was run by a local mom in Chilliwack, BC, Canada.



It took me a few days to decide on my favourite shirt and in the end I purchased the Dandelion Seeds Creeper in 12-18 months for my 16 month old daughter. This creeper is a very vibrant green with a fuschia/red dandelion popping out from the side. The colour is great and the cotton of the creeper was very soft to the touch. The label suggests you wash and dry it inside out and I think this is common amongst most t-shirts with graphics on them.

The creeper fits my daughter wonderfully. It has a great length and isnt too wide like I find many other brands. It has washed well and feels even softer now after a couple of washes. The shoulders are a lap-shoulder style which I find works great on younger babies for ease of dressing them, but it is not my favourite choice on older toddlers. I would have preferred a regular shirt style neckline. Yet that detail would not discourage me from buying this item again in a different print.

We wore this on our daughter for the first time when we went to the Seattle Zoo. I like to dress younger kids in bright colours when we are in a very busy public location and this shirt was great as I could easily spot my daughter.
I was worried that I had ruined the shirt when I gave her some grape juice that spilled all down the front of the creeper. Luckily after sitting in the dirty laundry pile for three days (we were away on holidays) the juice stains all came out on the first wash.
One of the things I love about this shop is that there are always new designs goign up in the shop. Right now you can visit the shop and find a great original collection of Thanksgiving and Halloween Shirts.
I think this one is adorable and may just have to buy it for my nephew thats due to arrive on Halloween 2009.
