Easy Daysies Review

Deni: I learned early on that my daughters feel more comfortable and confident with a routine. They like to know what is coming next. In fact, often when I get them up in the morning the first thing they ask is, "What are we doing today?"

I was very excited to see how my girls would respond to our new EasyDaysies daily schedule magnets. Designed by a local mom and teacher, EasyDaysies present a visual outline of a child's day. I have seen first-hand that teachers often use visual schedules in the classroom as they aid in transitions from one activity to the next. EasyDaysies bring this tool home to help children gain a sense of routine and responsibility in their daily activities.

We tried out the Everyday Kit. It includes magnets such as, "Breakfast", "Family Time", "Brush Teeth", "Get Dressed". Each magnet also includes an illustration for children who are not yet reading. The illustrations are very clear - my 2.5 year olds were able to figure out what most of the magnets were saying without being told.

We had a lot of fun making today's schedule together:
Our final schedule for today looked like this (note this does not include all of the magnets - just the ones that were relevant to our schedule today):

On several occasions today the girls told me what was coming next. I was excited to see that they were successfully referencing the schedule. I'm sure we will get a lot of use out of our EasyDaysies!

Angela: I purchased the Easy Daysies Everyday Set and the Chore Set for my five year old son (now 6) back in the Spring of this year. My middle son has always done much better with a set daily routine and these kits seemed like a great solution to keep him on track at home.

My son helped set up the day and was very excited to help decide thing like whether he would have a snack first or play first after school. Once we had the entire day up he was eager to follow along and know what was coming next. It helped him a lot to see that after dinner it was homework time, then play time and then bath time before bed time. There was no surprise or fear that doing homework would mean he missed out on play time.

After using the magnets for the last few months I must say we all still enjoy the calmness that they bring to the house. Everyone can read/see the plan for the day and we all try to follow it.
One of the great things about the magnets is that it makes us remember to set time for "Family Time" each day. Our days can be hectic and sometimes its just easier to let the kids run off and do their own things while I work/clean up. The Everyday Set reminds me to make a special time each day to spend as a family.

Here's what our regular weekday schedule looks like. These are not all the magnets in the Everyday Set but the ones we use most often.

One thing I have noticed recently about the magnets is that the edges are showing signs of wear and tear. The sides are scuffed and worn but think this is a testament of how much they get used in this house!

Buy them: www.easydaysies.com The Everyday Kit retails for just $17.99 and there are several other kits available such as the Family Activities Kit $12.99 or the Potty/Washroom Kit for $12.99 as well.

Easy Daisies has graciously offered all of our readers a free magnetic dry erase marker ($3 value) with the purchase of any Easy Daysies Kit. Just write '4fabfams' at the check out message!
